The Seskarö way

In the winter our activites goes from the island Seskarö.

Seskarö is a small island located at the northern end of the Bothnian bay, near the border with Finland. It is the only island with a permanent population. This is largely due to the sawmill that has operated on the island since 1892 and is still active. The sawmill is the heart of the island. Along with professional fishing and reindeer husbandry, it helps create a unique and vibrant island culture. The road to Seskarö is very scenic. Many small archipelago islands are connected by bridges, and the outermost of these islands is Seskarö.
Here, people live and thrive by making use of everything the sea and nature have to offer. This fosters a strong sense of community and pride in both the island and its way of life.
